Don't sleep on Denver.
Their D can do damage. Going up the middle on these guys is going to be a taller order than many realize. DT Broderick Bunkley is good when healthy and he is healthy.
Dumervil and Miller could be in the Pro Bowl at the end of the season and that pass rush makes the DBs better.
DBs Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins are long in the tooth but still command repsect.
Truthfully, the Raiders D should have a field day against Denver's young and inexperienced O line. Left Guard Zane Beedles is in his 2nd yr. Center J.D. Walton is too. Right Tackle Orlando Franklin is a rookie.
If MLB Rolando McClain and co. can stop the run, things could get very interesting when it comes to pass rush.
If Oakland can't generate one, or consistently stop the Broncos ground game, the ghosts of pre season will take on form and the annual questions about the Raiders inability to stop the run will be trumpeted by detractors.
If they do stop the run and force Denver to pass, the ghost of Nnamdi Asomugha comes up if their DBs get burned.
Cheating FS Michael Huff up to Nickle CB seems like a poor idea especially given the depletion of quality Safety play with Mike Mitchell and Hiram Eugene out.
We'll have to see...
On offense, we alluded to the possibilty Oakland goes air when it needs 3rd down yards and on 1st downs but they may be best served when they load up the jumbo pack and play tackle eligible with an extra O lineman as a "TE".
They have run Denver defenses over the last few years with this set.
Some have made a big deal about Oaklands 59-14 drubbing of Denver last Oct 24th but the sad fact was the McDaniels regime was in its death throes and an injury decimated Denver D decided in a panic to flop from its 3-4 defense to 4-3 that very week.
Wouldn't expect another cake walk this time but the fact is, Oakland could win this game handily.
Or shoot themselves in the foot.
Thats the roller coaster we as die hard Legion of the Silver and Black must ride.
And what a ride it is...

Photo Oakland Raiders Raider Night Practice
"DAH-DAH-DAH-DAH!"
The strains of Monday Night Football blasted over loudspeakers as Oakland took the field for their scheduled night practice. They're trying to acclimate to playing in the evening since their debut in Denver will be on Monday night.
Blaring crowd noise greated all but Safety Mike Mitchell, TE Kevin Boss and of course WR Louis Murphy.
All others were accounted for including veteran WR Derek Hagan, who's pre season emergence has some hinting at a power struggle on tap when it comes to starting Wides game one.
We think it doesn't matter as much who "starts" especially at Wide Receiver.
For the first time in years Oakland has enough quality depth to rotate there without much drop off especially if their current roster holds till Louis Murphy returns from a groin / hamstring injury that required surgery. He will not play Monday night.
TE Kevin Boss took a helmet to the knee this pre season while hauling in a 14 yd pass this pre season against San Francisco. At the time, Boss was said to have suffered what was called a contusion. We now know its an MCL sprain that has the 6-6, 253 lb former Giants participation in the season opener is in jeopardy.
The Raider may rely heavily on two late round draft picks.
7th round (241st overall) TE David Ausberry is a converted WR with size speed and supple hands for a big man capable of creating big problems down the seam and in the flats.
6th round selection (181st overall) Richard Gordon is in many ways the opposite of Ausberry and has made noise with solid blocking and some decent receptions this off season.
Facing off against pass rushing phenoms Elvis Dumervil and this years 2nd overall pick Von Miller will be a tall order.
6-4 250 lb 3rd yr man Brandon Myer is expected to contribute as well but more on Special Teams.
Tonights practice appears to have gone well and is the first in a series of three in row.
We'll keep you posted.

Photo / AP QB Terrelle Pryor
With his former Coach Jim Tressel being suspended until game 7 for his part in Ohio State NCAA violations, Oaklands 3rd round supplemental draft pick Terrelle Pryor's bid to over turn his 5 game suspension seems to have lost traction.
This wouldn't be a total loss since Oakland can carry and extra man on the roster until Pryor joins the team at home against Cleveland week 6.
Though he can't practice with the team, Pryor will likely be doing everything he needs to do to grow as a QB and learn his craft, but he shouldn't be expected to be a fixture when he comes on line or even see much time at all this year.
Hes a project and the only reason Oakland might need him after week 6 is if its young and questionable O line gets Campbell and Boller killed.
Some have speculated on Oakland looking into former Jags QB David Garrard, who was released unexpectedly yesterday. Thats not a bad idea if he comes at a reasonable price (he was due $8 million this season from Jacksonville) and if the reason for his release wasn't medical.
Garrard has suffered from Crohn's disease the last 6 yrs but his struggles seemed to come on field this off season.
Former Coach Jack Del Rio said of Garrard:
"He just couldn't get it going."
Garrard was outplayed by Luke McCown and rookie1st round pick Blaine Gabbert is slated to be the future QB for Jacksonville.
Whoever is chucking the rock downfield this season for Oakland, they'll have a bevy of WRs to choose from and thats something that hasn't happened in Oakland in a long time.
Rookie Denarius Moore, 2nd yr man Jacoby Ford, Darrius Heyward Bey, Chaz Schilens and veteran acquisition Derek Hagan all show promise.
Hagan, who made waves in the off season looking like the true possession receiver Oakland has lacked since Tim Brown retired, was missing from practice on Monday but his injury is reportedly minor and he should be back for todays practice as the Raiders gear up earnest for Oaklands season opener at Mile High.
He may not get the start but could figure prominently as the Raiders look to counter Denvers speedy pass rushers with quick passes.
Oakland no longer has TE Zach Miller and their seems to be a question as to whether his replacement Kevin Boss' knee injury will keep him out of week ones match up.
Even if thats not the case, the Raiders will need to crank up their ground game if they're going to topple Denver, but we'll talk more about that as the days draw closer...

DT "King" Richard Seymour
Oaklands new 53 man roster made todays practice look totally different than it has so far this year.
DT Richard Seymour rejoined the D line. It seems like the big man gets convenient hammy issues when the Raiders want to rest him. Either way hes back and thats always a good thing.
Unless your an opposing QB and or your name is Rothlisberger.
After a brief stint with the Patriots reserve MLB Ricky Brown rejoins the Raiders. Brown enters his 6th season and provides some much needed depth to the LB corps.
At 6-2, 235 Brown is under sized but a contributor on ST.
Also back was oft injured WR Chaz Schilens who dinged a knee after getting tangled in the sideline carpet on a reverse against Arizona.
Many fans and some writers thought Chaz would be a cut down casualty but he is and has been an economical 7th round pick so he's not breaking the bank and if he can stay healthy would give Oakland a legitimate "X" reciever.
He's not the only injured Wide Out, Louis Murphy makes the cut but is out with groin / hammy issues that required surgery and will sit at least past game one against Denver.
CB Chris Johnson practiced after missing most of the off season with a reportedly similar injury. He under went a successful procedure, healed up and finally rejoined the Asomughaless secondary.
He says he hasn't felt this healthy in at least two years.
Fans took the torching of rookie DeMarcus Van Dyke as a sign Oaklands secondary is in trouble without Aso and yes, it won't be as good without him but DVD faced the best the League has to offer right out of the gate, gained invaluable experience and should only benefit from the experience.
Now, with the season a week away, its time for the starters to step in.
CB Stanford Routt has been playing with steady, cool professionalism in the face of "replacing" Asomugha as the new #1. He looks like a man on a mission.
Safety Stevie Brown was cut last year and rejoined Oakland at the start of the season but this year he was cut and signed by Carolina.
Fellow Safety Mike Mitchell's status remains unknown but we've learned he may have suffered a torn meniscus in his knee and is in all likelihood out for at least game one, maybe beyond.
Oakland wanted rookie WR Denarius Moore to get reps returning punts this off season and he looks smooth doing it but he got blasted late in the last game and maybe that was enough to finally convince them what we've said all along, he's too valuable to waste as our return man.
Don't be surprised to see him back there on occasion, but Nick Miller looks slated to do the lions share on returns.
Phew!
HC Hue Jackson picked up on our assertion that the real Raiders haven't been seen yet and thats true.
Today we got closer than ever.

Photo Ted S. Warren / AP QB Kyle Boller
The Raiders went winless at 0-4 this off season but with a strike shortened pre season theses games had an emphasis on 2nd and 3rd string evaluations, concealing playbooks and staying healthy. Much more so than in recent seasons and with good reason.
At one point, 19 of Oaklands 80 camp players were injured including starters DHB, DMC, Louis Murphy (who'll miss the opener after surgery) Chris Johnson and a host of others.
Barring setbacks Johnson says he's back to full strength after a procedure and hasn't felt better in years. Thats good news but means we'll have no idea what our starting CBs will look like until live fire commences on the 12th.
Those panicked about Oaklands shelling by among others the Saints may or may not have a legitimate beef, we don't and won't know again till game day, but rookies and hangers on account for most of the damage wrought through the air this pre season.
Players need evaluated and rookies need reps.
Speaking of...
The Raider O line is another area of concern. The starting line up is yet TBD according to HC Hue Jackson, but as of today it stands LT Jared Veldheer, LG Stefan Wisniewski, C Samson Satele, RG Cooper Carlisle, RT Khalif Barnes.
Veldheer has struggled this off season. We'll need to see if his promising rookie outing was an abberation. He's bulked up 15 lbs in the off season by lifting weights. It hasn't helped him stay on sides yet though.
Wisniewski doesn't look like he's going to the Pro Bowl this year but he's better more than he's bad and clearly the best option to fill for the now Seahawkian Robert Gallery.
They call 2nd year behemoth Bruce Campbell "Evil Dead" but its Cooper Carlisle is the one who won't die.
4 yrs past his prime and "no longer a system fit" no one can unseat him yet.
Campbell was a mixed bag against Seattle. He gets his pads too high and loses leverage. Got dumped on his ass on one pass play.
Khalif Barnes is the latest in an all too long list of patchwork Right Tackle fixes.
TE Richard Gordon showed tonight he can haul in passes on occasion as well as lay down solid blocking. He could help open holes for Oaklands power house back field.
TE David Ausberry impressed in camp with his hands but an injury slowed him and he wasn't able to do much after recovery. Tonight won't help evaluators decide his fate but he's got too much potential to just let go.
WR Derek Hagan has done enough to make the cut and maybe even enough to start depending on the health of Oaklands WR corps.
For the first time since the departure of Brown and Rice Oakland seems to have some exciting prospects and competition at WR.
2nd yr man Jacoby Ford is healthy and ready, 5th round wonder Denarius Moore has looked promising as has Darrius Heyward Bey. If Chaz Schilens can stay healthy and makes the cut (he will) the Raiders could finally have a stable of young Wide Outs.
It looks like it will be Campbell and then Kyle Boller throwing to them. Boller has experience with Jackson and the systemand Trent Edwards simply hasn't shown enough to justify moving past him.
"QB" Terrelle Pryor is and won't be in any condition to seriously challenge even Edwards at this point.
Though he will be able to be around the team and study the play book Pryor will not be allowed to play till week six.
He's a projectr no matter how much we'd like to see what he offers.
Right now, judging by the few snaps we've seen, he's nowhere near close to taking meaningful game snaps at QB.
Oakland loves their hybrid FB former Washington Husky Marcel Reece but we'll have to see who his back up will be. Manase Tonga is much more of a traditional fullback.
We'll let you know when they roster cuts are done and give you an impression of where we're at and where we might stand.
To answer a question posed by several e mails, no we do not know if Hue Jackson reads RNS. (probably not. He seems like a busy man) but yes, we have noticed how some of our topics and opinions are later used by some reporting on Oakland including Coach Jackson ie. "We haven't SEEN the real Raiders yet."
Just glad to think we've got some sort of a grasp on the situation.
END OF PRE SEASON 2011...
Thanks for bein' there!

For those bemoaning the Saints 40-20 "drubbing" of the Raiders D, we pointed out that no one so far this off season has actually SEEN Oaklands 2011 Defense.
We got alot closer for the first time today.
DT Big John Henderson and CB Chris Johnson took the field today for the first time weeks.
Henderson's injury was undisclosed but its rumored last years broken foot had come back to haunt him. We'll have to see how he feels in the next few days. FIngers crossed.
CB Chris Johnson said that he was back from "an oil change" and "hands down" will be ready for the season opener against Denver.
He also says he's at or near back to full power.
“I’ve felt better the last couple weeks than I’ve felt in the last two years,” Johnson said. “So, it’s a big improvement I feel in my body. I’m just ready to go.”
Thats good news but our secondary situation isn't as grim as some think.
No surprises in todays first rosters cut downs: FB Kelly, OL Lamaak, WR Adeniji, WR Goulet, S Bullocks, DT Hill waived. OL Eliades waived injured.
OL rookie Stefan Wisniewski was absent today after a solid outing against New Orleans where he played LG and Center.
Coach Jackson says its minor.
Wisniewski looked good but still a little awkward in space. He did some very good things in Sundays game though.
Veteran DT Richard Seymour and LB Sam Williams were also absent but likely being held in reserve.
TE Kevin Boss, S Mike Mitchell and WRs Chaz Schilens and Louis Murphy were also out.
Boss suffered a knee contusion but the vet is likely being given the Seymour treatment. He figures to be a valuable outlet for QB Jason Campbell, especially in the Red Zone.
Mitchell and and Murphy are another story. Murphy under went a proceedure and is suffering with groin and hammy issues similar to but worse than the ones suffered by CB Chris Johnson.
He is expected to miss game one and maybe more.
Safety Hiram Eugene was placed on injured reserve effectively ending his season and making the Mitchell question more pressing.
RB Taiwan Jones showed his amazing skills to a National audience for the first time and stated on a radio show after that he is the fastest Raider on the fastest Raider team in history.
We'll have to ask, DHB, DMC, Jacoby Ford and Stanford Routt what they think about that.

Photo Paul Sakuma / AP WR Derek Hagan
The Saints spent the last 9 days in California choosing to stay rather than fly back after their match up with Houston in week 2.
Much was made of their stay by a certain anti-Oakland reporter. The gist of the national story was how the Saints had used their time in Cali to fix alot of things and fine tune their passing machine.
On the opening play Drew Breeze nailed WR Devery Henderson for a big gainer against rookie CB DVD who had perfectr coverage.
McClain with beautiful coverage against the TE on a seam route set up 3rd and 10.
WR Robert Meecham snagged a bullet for 18 yds and a 1st down against DVD who again had great coverage.
Tyvon Branch read a TE screen and made a great tackle after a short gain.
Darren Sproles too the field against Rolando McClain after being literally knocked out of one of his last games as a Charger.
McClain stopped Sproles and an illegal formation flag on the play was decline but surprisingly the Saints went for it on 4th and 2 completing a quick slant against DVD for4 a 1st down and goal.
Marques Colston grabbed another slant against DVD who stopped him at the one but RB Mark Ingram drove it across the goal for the TD with 10:45 left in the 1st.
No unsportsman like flag on Ingram who taunted the Black Hole by drilling the football into the barrier.
The Saints did what they do and thats pass the ball well. It was a good lesson and invaluable reps for DeMarcus Van Dyke and not a melt down at all.
On the sideline, HOF'er Willie Brown gave DVD some pointers and told him to keep his head up.
WR/KR Nick Miller muffed the return dimming his chances of making it on a crowded WR roster.
Oakland deperately need to establish a drive and keep the ball out of the hands of Brees.
On 2nd down Campbell went deep to Bey but he was only able to get one hand on it.
On 3rd and 7 Campbell hit 5th yr veteran and former Giant Derek Hagan snagged a dart for a much needed 1st down.
Another quick pass to rookie WR Denarius Moore picked up 6 and a swing to FB Marcel Reece set up a 3rd and 1 which Bush picked up easily behind some good blocking.
Fellow RB Darren McFadden did not suit up.
On 2nd and 8 Bush barrelled right side for a big gainer.
Bush worked against the grain and made a big run to the 38 yd line.
Bush looks good.
Rock Carwright gained 3 in his first appearance of the night.
Hagan snagged a come back and stiff armed his way to a 35 yd TD.
Hagan makes the roster.
Both teams with an 11 play opening drive but Oaklands was a 91 yarder.
Impressive.
Saints take over on the 20 with 4:58 in the 1st quarter.
On 2nd and 8 TE Jimmy Graham snagged a sideline throw for 1st down yardage over S Michael Huff.
Brees is so accurate.
Sproles took the edge to pick up first down yardage against LB Trevor Scott who was held by a WR(!).
Pressure failed to reach Brees again who completed a deep pass to Meecham inside the Raiders 20.
Routt had great coverage over a goal line lob to Marques Colston.
Branch made a nice run stop but the Raiders D suffering to set the edge again.
Quick pass to Colston set up 1st and goal at the one. RB Pierre Thomas was stuffed but the play didn't count because of an Oakland time out.
Thomas vaulted into the end zone for the Saint TD with :33 seconds left in the 1st quarter.
Saints 14-7.
Rookie WR Denarius Moore took the kick off to the 17 then took a quick bubble screen against Saints soft 2 deep Safety defense. 2nd and short as the 1st quarter ends.
2ND QUARTER
A hold by rookie LG Stephan Wisniewski negated a sweet run left side by rookie RB Taiwan Jones and setting up a 3rd a 20. A dump off to Bush gave P Shane Lechler some room and he boomed one to the 20. His hang time allowed great coverage and the Saints took over on the 22.
A blatant hold on DE Matt Shaughnessy went uncalled and Brees completed a long pass for a 1st down.
On 2nd and 4 Huff came on a blitz but the hand off to Sproles ran away from it setting up 3rd and inches.
RB Mark Ingram burst unchallengeed through the line and was met by Safety Tyvon Branch after 1st down yardage.
MLB Roland McClain came on a blitz and pressured Brees slinging him to the ground.
LB/DE Kam Wimbley set his hand in the dirt and finally set the edge stuffing Sproles and setting up 3rd and 14. Oakland stopped the play but DE Jarvis Moss lined up off sides setting up 3rd and 9.
A first down throw to the TE over DB Jerome Boyd gave the Saints another 1st down.
Mercifully, the Saints took their 1st charged time out.
Brees under pressure takes an awkward play and turns it into gold setting up 2nd down and 1.
Frustrating.
At this point Brees was 15 out of 20.
On 3rd and 15 his pass to TE Jimmy Graham was incomplete on the 11th play of the drive Stan Routt looked like an All Pro against Colston at the goal.
On 3rd and 10 Shaughnessy broke through and the pressure caused an incompletion with good coverage by Boyd this time.
The Saints kicked a 33 yd field goal.
17-7 Saints.
Taiwan looked tentative on the kick off as he took the one hopper out of the end zone and to the 17.
Al Michaels rambles on about Raider penalties and Saints Coach Sean Peyton turning down Davis for a HC job.
Peyton said he was intimidated by Davis and had to bow out. He wasn't ready for the responsibility.
A deep sideline throw to Taiwan drew a P.I. against LB Jonathan Vilma setting up Oakland at the 40.
Raiders draw a flag for delay to set up 2nd and 15 with 5:44 left.
WR Nick Miller snagged a quick hook to set up 3rd and 8.
A batted pass to Jones was snagged by T Stephon Hyer who rumbled for a first down.
A deep pass over the middle to Moore was incomplete on 1st down.
A draw to Jones gained 5.
On 3rd and 5 a screen to Taiwan was taken in side the 5 but TE Brandon Myers called for the pick.
3rd and 13. A quick pass to Hagan gained 7.
Booting off the dirt, J.Kow stepped in for a 57 yarder that was a thing of beauty.
17-10 with 2:32 in the half.
Chase Daniel took over for Brees and completed a long pass to Mecham for 1st down yardage and then some.
Daniel left holding his throwing hand after DE/LB Kam Wimbley's spin move defeated an attempted hold and applied heavy pressure.
Daniel returned and the Saints picked up a double Safety blitz and the deep ball was incompete.
On 3rd and 10 pressure finally got to Daniel and Lamarr Houston and Desmond Bryant sacked Daniel to set up the Saints 1st punt.
Nick Miller took it to the Raider 33.
A screen to Bush from Campbell gained a 1st down, a dink to Denarius Moore gained 7 and stopped the clock.
WR Derek Hagan with a catch and run to the 26 yd line. Time out Oakland with 14 seconds left.
Campbell was 12 of 16 and a TD until he threw into double coverage at the goal line. The ball was batted up in the air and picked off to end the 2nd quarter.
HALFTIME
Kyle Boller took over at QB and Taiwan Jones turned a broken play into a 1st down and then picked his way for another out to the 43 yd line. On 7 carries he had 33 yds.
Boller hung in and fired a strike over the middle to WR Derek Hagan. C Samson Satele blew the protection and got Boller driven in to the hard pack.
Taiwan Jones for 22 yds on the TD scamper off right side tied the score.
That scoring drive was all Jones and it looked goooood.
Jones showing people that it wasn't the Division rnaking at EWU that made Jones look like he was playing against lesser competition.
He can do it at this level too and Oakland has the deadliest looking backfield in the game.
Great coverage forced Daniel to throw it away to the Oakland bench where none other than OL Stephon Hyer caught it and pretended to break and run with it.
We're pretty sure RT Khalif Barnes doesn't appreciate the competition at Wide Receiver.
Last year it was Barnes making grabs one for a TD.
After a sack by LB Darryl Blackstock the Saints threw incomplete on 3rd and 14 with good coverage on Colston by Walter McFadden.
Rookie Denarius Moore took a shot to the chops on the punt return and we say again, he's too valuable to risk on returns damn it!
WR Derek Hagan caught his 6th pass for 126 yds and a TD with 9:54 left in the 3rd. Wow.
Boller connected with TE Brandon Myer for 6 yds.
Boller fired a rocket at Moore in tight coverage on a quick drive route. The ball deflected high off his pads but went un caught.
J.Kow kicked a 39 yarder to make the score 20-17.
Jeff Miller head of NFL security says he toured Oakland in 2008 and said it was one of the worst in the League. He said today its done a 180 and is one of the best.
LB Bruce Davis dumped his coverage and blitzed Daniel and then commited a roughing the passer and gave up 15 yds and a 1st down.
Daniel then completed a short pass for a TD to a Saints TE.
Somewhere in that drive Al Michaels actually said "If you stop the rivalry over a couple of punks, you let the terorrists win." (?!!) Criminals are now "terorrists"?
Hoping to endure the barrage of propaganda opening day.
With the TD the Saints regain the lead with 6:34 left in the third.
24-20 Saints.
WR Sean Bodiford has had a good camp and found a crease to bring the kick off out of the end zone to the 28.
Boller handed off to Michal Bennett who saw his first reps of the day and gained 2 yds.
Bennett then hauled in a nice Boller pass over the middle for a first down.
WR Nick Miller snagged a nice diving catch for 6 yds but the drive stalled and Lechler punted it away to be downed at the 13 yd line.
A good shoulder tackle by Chimdi Chekwa brought up a 3rd and 3 but a quick catch on the left side gained 1st down yds.
He then was lept over by a RB who rumbled all the way to the Raider 15.
Blown coverage by our 3rd string.
Speaking of, LB Quentin Groves again getting reps deep into the game.
On 3rd and 15 an all out blitz was burned by a screen and the Saints 1st string RB Mark Jones who gained 17 yds and brought up 1st and goal.
Great coverage Sterling Moore made a nice play batting away a pass at the goal line.
On the nexst play the Saints dove it into the end zone for the TD. The Saints went for two and got it making the score 32-20 as the 3rd quarter ended.
FOURTH QUARTER
Nick Miller took the kick off to the 18 to start the 4th. Edwards took over at QB and swing pass to Taiwan Jones gained to the 35.
Jones looks really good and really, really fast...
Edwards lined up and called time out giving NBC a chance to go over Terrelle Pryor's indiscretions.
On 1st and 10 Jones pulled a sort of Marcus Allen 17 Bob Trey O and broke another very impressive big run.
On 3rd and 10 Edwards couldn't handle the shotgun snap and the ball was recovered by New Orleans.
Announcers Michaels and Colinsworth rambled on about Pryor's suspension and whether it would be upheld or appealed and how that could have an effect on the NFL and the NCAA's authority but the reality is, Pryor WON'T appeal because the suspension gives Oakland the chance to carry Pryor in addition to its 53 man roster until his suspension ends after week 5.
Another blown coverage saw an easy TD strike to an embarrassingly wide open Saint WR.
40-20 Saints with 12:54 left.
Instant and deserved comparison of Taiwan and the Titans 2,000 yd rusher Chris Johnson.
On 3rd and 4 a LB blitz Jones was run over trying to block. So again, comparison appropriate.
Piss poor tackling saw the Saints rumble for 25 yds over Raider 3rd stringers.
Announcer Michelle Tafoya takes it upon herself to text the NFLPA and ask them about the non issue of Pryor's agent possibly appealing the 5 game suspension.
Fans watching live how our media has degenerated into High School gossip manufacturing rumor as fact.
Gross.
Now of course the obligatory scenes of New Orleans destroyed by Katrina. 5 days for water and countless lies about murderous gangs and rampant looting. Never happened...
Enough about that.
RB Michael Bennett got a chance to audition for a job elsewhere and picked up good yardage on on several rushing plays.
WR Nick Miller caught a nice pass from Edwards on 2nd and 6 for 19 yds and 1st down.
Edwards then had one batted down and then threw high to Miller to set up 3rd and 10. Another good strike over the middle for a 1st down.
The announcers praised the O line protection then Alex Parsons whiffed and got Edwards slung into the infield hard pack.
Swanson Miller got Edwards again sacking him for a big loss.
LT Seth Wand is worthless in pass protection. Week after week.
Shane Lechler punted it away to the Saints 18.
New Orleans kneeled on the ball and ran out the clock.
Oakland didn;t look half as bad as the score would seem and showed Oakland has some secret weapons for teams to contend with.
We're going to enjoy film room break downs this week.
